Crunch Time

Flows have ceased a bit on the Truckee River. For the first time in a week it’s below 2000 cubes here in the Hirsch. Water has cleared back to about 5-6 feet of vis instead of the coffee color it’s been looking like.  Still not the best for nymphing, but if you like covering water, it’s perfect for streamer fishing. Today was one of the best streamer days I’ve had in a long time. A chase, or grab in just about every likely spot. Black is the color. Look for some nice soft banks, or anywhere fish can get out of current.  A nice brown from today up in the miracle mile.

Well, I don’t know about shaping up, the river is still so f’ing high. I heard the Gallatin is pumping. I had to hit up some stillwater last week just to take the blues away.

Nice sounds like things are finally starting to shape up! Dry fly action soon to come? Wish I was out there right now. Things are tough here right now, high dirty water just about everywhere. Might have to resort to some still water action.
