Truckee River Fishing Report 5/21/12

Fishing is good all over on the Truckee River. Floated on the Eastside yesterday, it was about 90 degrees, the water is a bit high and dirty, we lost some big fish and fishing was solid all day. Caddis have already popped, along with pmds mid-afternoon. Roll out the G-6 on ’em, which ripped lips yesterday. In the Hirsch, the water is up over 700, due to releases out of Boca, but clear and damn fishy. In fact the river on the Cali side is fishing very good, probably as good as in can be for May. Very shortly we will see caddis, pmds, golden stones, and drakes, stoked. The fish are fat and healthy. Weather is perfect, starting to get a little crowded on the weekends, but mid-week it’s still a ghost town.
