Truckee River Fishing Report 6-11-14

Pretty good reliable fishing here on the Truckee River in the greater Lake Tahoe-Truckee-Reno area. Caddis and more caddis+ fast oxygenated water will get you some fish. Very hot in the afternoons up here, and that has most certainly raised water temps. Not so bad on the Cali side, but in Nevada getting pretty darn warm. Probably best to get yourself some in the a.m. and bring the dry box out right before dark. If you’re not so sure about water temps, get yourself a stream therm and take a reading. Above 68 or so give it a rest. Green drakes, caddis, golden stones, and sallies are all out. Nymphing with any of the above pattern will work. Crays are always good as is the streamer game. Tight lining is really the way to go now with the upped water temps. Hard for most folks to decipher the good holding water, but it’s there, you probably just walked past it.
