Truckee River Fishing Report-7-16-16

Pretty consistent summertime fishing on the Truckee River.

Short and sweet since not much change since last post.

Flows are very stable, nice warm weather, good bug activity, pretty good normal fishing for this time of year. Fish like the faster pocket water right now. Tight line nymphing is the best way to get the job done, picking your way through the slots. You have to cover and fish a lot of water right now to find them. Trouts are very very spread out. Some days you find a lot, some days you find a few.

Caddis, caddis, and more caddis. Crayfish are molting and can be fished on the swing or stripped like streamers,-or nymphed like any other nymph in your box. Having both on your rig is a good bet.

Flows are very good out on the LT right now too. Up actually. Some pmds and drakes still fluttering about. Probably more people than bugs though, but the fish are the real deal there.

So about half way through summer and the fishing has been good so far.

I still have some spots left for July 30th, Tight Line Nymph Clinic.
