Truckee River Fishing Report-1-30-18
Looks like that’s it for winter.
At least for now, so you may as well get up and enjoy some winter fishing. High 60’s in Reno this week, 50’s in Truckee. We can only hope for a March Miracle.
Flows have lowered back down into 300’s on the California side of the Truckee River, and around 500’s out East on the lower Truckee River. Water temps should warm up a bit this week on both sides of the river. I still have been doing my guiding out East on the lower river. The water was cold the last few weeks, and we’ve had some small windows of good streamer fishing. Of course you can always bobber up on the frog water, but that ain’t what we’re down there for. The big fish eat meat and we’ve turned a few and landed a few. If you are nymphing look for things to really get going this week as the blue wings should come on pretty strong with this warmer weather. You may even see some heads poking up.
