Truckee River Fishing Report-2-19-18

Cold is the word.

The coldest week of the year on the Truckee River. Better then 70 degrees in February, I guess.

The ridge of high pressure that’s dominated our winter in California looks to slowly retrograde West the next couple weeks. That could allow big storms to come off the Pacific from a more zonal jet stream. March Miracle? Looks very likely actually.

For me, I’ll wait until the temp warms up a bit. Maybe by this weekend we can get some warmer weather.  Negatives the next few nights here in the Hirsch. Probably be some anchor ice this week. Trouts will move back in the ultra slow water.

I will post some clinic dates for March shortly.
