Truckee River Fishing Report-5-10-21
Just about perfect weather, good flows, and good spring fishing on the Truckee River.
Blue bird, 60 degree weather. Don’t get much better. Very good spring fishing as flows aren’t that high this spring. Higher, compared to summer, but pretty good for May. I always say this: How you get around in the Truckee River usually dictates your success. If you have a hard time wading, you’ll be limited to the water you fish. The best water is always hard to get to.
Trouts are spread out all over the river, and in every type of water. Middle slots, up on banks, etc. Fish in close, then fish out deeper. Most of the big fish in the spring are in close out of current. I like fishing the dry dropper rig in close, and the euro nymphing rigs deep.
