Afternoon rain/ thunderstorms continue all over the Reno-Tahoe-Truckee area. All over the Eastern Sierra’s.
A little more rain and cooler temps this week are helping.
Flows on the Little Truckee River have now dropped to 21 cfs. To low to fish in my opinion. Please stay off the Little Truckee River and the main Truckee River until flows come up.
Despite the drought, Reno and Tahoe are experiencing 150-200% of average rainfall from June to present. Weird weather, and I think everyone should brace for a huge winter in California.
The lower Truckee River East of Reno is loaded with carp. They are super hard to catch with the fly, and they fight super hard when you do hook them. They have been dubbed the poor man’s bonefish.
